DENTAL VENEERS
Dental veneers are thin, custom-made shells that are bonded to the front of your teeth to improve their appearance. Made from porcelain, composite resin, or other durable materials, veneers blend seamlessly with your natural teeth, mimicking the translucency and texture of enamel. They are designed to fit comfortably and provide a natural, bright, and confident smile that can last 10–15 years or longer with proper care.
Veneers are ideal for patients looking to:
Mask discoloration or stains
Repair chips, cracks, or gaps
Straighten slightly crooked teeth
Improve the size, shape, or overall symmetry of their smile
Porcelain veneers, in particular, are one of the most natural-looking options. They are strong, durable, and resistant to staining from coffee, tea, and tobacco. Dr. Long carefully selects veneers that complement your teeth and facial features to ensure a natural and beautiful result. Veneers are also a less invasive, more cost-effective alternative to crowns on front teeth.
Patients with discolored, chipped, uneven, or misshapen teeth are often great candidates. Veneers are also an excellent option for those who want to restore confidence in their smile without extensive dental work.
Veneers are a minimally invasive way to transform your smile, giving you a natural, bright, and confident appearance that lasts for years.
What to Expect at Your Visit
Veneer placement typically takes multiple visits:
Consultation & Planning: Dr. Long will review your goals, take X-rays, and create a personalized treatment plan.
Tooth Preparation: A small portion of enamel (about half a millimeter) is removed to allow the veneer to fit comfortably.
Impressions: Molds of your teeth are taken and sent to a dental lab to fabricate your custom veneers.
Temporary Veneers (if needed): While your permanent veneers are being made, temporary ones may be placed.
Placement: Once ready, veneers are bonded to your teeth using a special dental cement. An ultraviolet light may be used to set the bond quickly.
Follow-Up: A follow-up visit ensures your veneers fit perfectly, feel comfortable, and look natural.
